The Yuma Study Center, located at 4101 Yuma Street in Washington, D.C., is in design and development and is being evaluated in terms of achieving the highest level of sustainability that is practicable. Greening Urban designed a 25,000-gallon rainwater cistern system that captures roof runoff, as well as condensate from the building’s HVAC system. The collected rainwater is reused to supply cooling tower make up water to the building’s HVAC system. This system avoided the need to construct a 60-foot storm pipe in the street.
