M. Bijan Zarrabi, Ph.D.
Senior Engineering Consultant
Dr. Bijan Zarrabi has many years of experience in engineering research and practice. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering. Bijan has an excellent knowledge of engineering theories as well as good engineering hands-on capabilities. His professional experiences include: instructing and presenting different levels of theories and practices of engineering; design, management, and supervision of different construction and engineering projects; as well as, design, setup, troubleshooting, service, and maintenance of a variety of engineering apparatus and systems.
In 2006, after receiving his Doctorate degree, his postdoctoral work involved award winning research on geosynthetic aggregates that are currently used in stormwater and drainage applications. Being the primary thinker and doer of this outstanding project substantially raised his interest in green building technology that, as a result, directed him to be a part of the Greening Urban team.
As the Senior Engineering Research and Technology Manager, Bijan has a wide spectrum of responsibilities in Greening Urban from consulting and research to advising and project management.
